Being Perfectly Imperfect
How’s it going?
Are you being mindful of yourself and your own needs?
Are you prepared to take Imperfect Action?
Or are you getting caught up in the frenzy and expectations of the Festive Season?
Just an aside here: Who’s expectations are you trying to live up to anyway – your own or those of other people?
A few years ago when I was racing around on Christmas Eve in an attempt to achieve the ‘perfect’ experience my daughter asked the question and ended it by saying “I don’t want perfection, I don’t care we we don’t have that fancy sauce, I just want to be home with you!”
Oh my, what a golden moment that was. Our Yuletide is a very different experience these days.
Yes, of course I want it to be lovely but somehow that one comment gave it a whole new slant.
What I forget to remember is that perfection isn’t achievable – even if you get close something changes the goal posts and you start pushing for the next perfect outcome. I’ve learned to say “Enough” … to delegate … Now that was a biggie b/c how could anyone else do it as well as me? … and accept help gracefully.
What one big or little step could you take to make things simpler for yourself?
If you could do with a few minutes R&R drop me an email and I’ll happily send you my 6 minute relaxing meditation ‘Time for Me’. You may have heard it before but it could be just what you need just now, even once a day listening could be hugely beneficial. You can get in touch HERE
Just loving the beautiful photo of you and Laura. Xxx
