Running for Love x

My beautiful girl Laura Hart is running and cycling LOTS for Target Ovarian Cancer because "I want to support my mum and raise awareness"

Her Story

"Ovarian cancer isn't talked about so much, and often goes undiagnosed until it's in the advanced stages due to symptoms - fatigue, bloating, lots of peeing, ovary twinges - being attributed to so many of the day to day conditions you just 'get on with'.

Recently my mum was sadly given the diagnosis and it really has rocked our world.

At diagnosis, mum was given a simple booklet by Target Ovarian Cancer, which could easily be taken for granted, however it was really the first thing that helped mum and our family come to terms with the news and start to understand the next steps. Target Ovarian Cancer is a charity committed to raising awareness and investing in research to help change the future.

This year I am committed to raising as much cash as I can for them - for those diagnosed and their families. So far, I've committed to: Nike 10k, Richmond Half Marathon, followed by the Great North Run a week later (half mara), a cycle to Paris from London, and I'll finally be running the London Marathon with my deferred ballot place in 2016. As I signed up to the Great North Run through the charity, I need to raise a minimum of £500 - however with your support I plan to smash that. £50 could enable 200 people to learn about the symptoms through leaflets, £100 could enable 200 GPs to update their knowledge of ovarian cancer, and £500 could pay for 2 days of medical research into new treatments. Please help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you

Thanks a million.
Big love, Laura xx"
